This little shop started in the dining room of a little cape in Waldoboro, Maine. I'm a stay at home mom to two incredible little boys. I'm a big foodie at heart, and I love everything about good food, from the dirt where it came to the pan where it's cooked. I'm also a self-taught crafter, for around 6 years now. I enjoy knitting, crocheting, needle felting, hand embroidery, and sewing. I spent some time traveling to various countries while working on an online degree, but this guy kept following me around. So, I married him. My husband and I then moved to Maine from our hometowns on Long Island, NY and never looked back. We love the natural beauty and the opportunity of a more simple way of life. I want the items I create to represent just that.
I make hand-coiled cotton rope products that are made with 100% cotton thread and cork tags. Each item is unique and made to order, usually with a toddler in my lap. They are durable, hand-washable, and can be used in any aspect of your life. I also started hand dyeing the rope in small batches using a fiber reactive dye. I'm a one-woman show, so I also take care of social media, photographs, graphic designs, and inquiries. I love it all! Mae in Maine is proudly a member of Maine Made and Maine Crafts Association.
